Ordering and Delivery

Currently, ordering through this website is for UK customers only. However, we can ship to other countries but you will need to contact us BEFORE you place your order so that we can calculate the delivery costs.

Items up to 2kg are usually shipped via Royal Mail with an expected delivery time of 3 working days after despatch. (UK only)

Items in excess of 2kgs and that are large in dimension are shipped via UPS with an expected delivery time of 2 working days after despatch. (UK only)

Some items, such as brakes and items that require machining, are special order and we will advise you by email of the delivery period but please allow at least a week for the despatch of these orders.

We can arrange a faster Special Delivery - please contact us at ron@ronsbits.co.uk, and we will advise you of the cost.

Orders over £400 qualify for a 5% discount and orders over £500 are dispatched free of charge.

We aim to process your order as quickly as possible, and will usually despatch your item within 3 working days of receiving your order.

Contact may be via the telephone so please provide us with a daytime telephone number.

By placing an order you confirm that you have provided us the correct billing address of your debit/credit card, and the correct delivery address.

Please note that delivery calculation is weight and/or volume based.

You can view postage and packing charges at anytime by clicking "My shopping" under "shopping list".

Orders placed after 6pm Monday to Friday, and over the weekend, will be processed the next working day.

Receipt by Ron’s Bits of an order via our website does not constitute legal acceptance of an order. Your order will be deemed to have been accepted by us only once you have received written confirmation of our acceptance. We reserve the right to refuse your order for any reason we see fit.

Payment

Payment can be made in the following ways:

Paypal; which now accepts credit/debit cards without the need for an account.

Credit card; over the phone: 01379 688310

Cheque; which must be drawn on a UK Bank and have the cheque guarantee number on the back along with its expiry date.

Items will only be despatched when full payment has been received and cheques have cleared, which could add an additional 5 working days to the order process.

Product Description

We aim to depict each product shown as accurately as possible. However, the products supplied may not be identical to those shown in the photographs due to differing manufacturing processes.

Stock Availability

We do not keep all items in stock but they are usually readily available You will be advised of any items that may take longer to arrive.  We may split orders and post separately.

If there is an item you require that you cannot see on the website, please contact us and we may be able to quote you a price for it.

If you are unsure about which items you require please contact Ron and hopefully he will be able to advise you.

Passing of Risk

Any risk in the goods is passed to you upon delivery of the goods. Liability in relation to delivery is also passed onto you at this stage. We do retain the title to the goods until cleared funds have been received by us. You are responsible to check all goods upon delivery. We cannot claim to our courier for damaged goods unless notified to us within 24 hours of delivery.

Change of Mind - Cooling Off Period

The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling Regulations) Act 2000, allows for a 7 day "cooling off” period. If you decide to return an item due to a change of mind, then you must inform us within 7 working days starting the day after delivery.

Please note that we will only accept a return, and refund your monies (less 10% restocking charge) if the item(s) are unused, and in perfect re-saleable condition with all original packaging and instructions. A refund for the cost of goods only excluding any delivery charges accrued by you will be issued once we are in satisfactory receipt of the returned items. The refund will be via the original form of payment, or by cheque.

Damaged Goods

Our returns policy in no way affects your Statutory Rights as a consumer. If goods are received damaged then we will offer you an alternative product or a full refund. Please notify us immediately within 24hrs of accepting delivery. We will decide the most appropriate method of returning the products to us, and pay a reasonable cost for the return carriage. Please enclose all packaging, and a brief description of the fault.

General

We reserve the right to cancel any order that we deem unacceptable, and in such circumstances provide a full refund.

We reserve the right to alter our terms and conditions, products, and prices without notice.

You are responsible for checking for any variations of the aforementioned terms and conditions. We will attempt to ensure that website content is up to date and accurate. However, we cannot offer a guarantee that our website is devoid of any discrepancies, We cannot offer any guarantees that the site is virus free, or free of any other disruptive properties or elements. Therefore we cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions or issues caused by you visiting or using our website.

Privacy Policy

At Ron’s Bits we are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. The type of information we will collect about you includes:

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with the law. We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.
